Breakfast: Still housesitting, bacon and egg on toast. ($0)
Lunch: One of my friends from church is going away to college soon so I took her out to lunch. Really it was an excuse for me to get a good meal. We went to The Grove (the one restaurant like La Boulange here). I had a really satisfying veggie sandwich. ($27.70)
Dinner: We had another little hangout session with my friend Charles who moves tomorrow. He wasn't hungry so he watched the rest of us eat breakfast burritos then we got shakes from Sonic and watched the Olympics. ($0)
I've decided to start blogging my eating adventures. Mostly because cooking has become increasingly boring lately and this will add some excitement to my life. I'm not that girl who shares what she eats because I have an eating disorder. I don't believe in dieting. I think diets, like budgets, are lame and evil. On that financial note, some may consider me cheap and wonder why I can't afford regular food, this has nothing to do with that. Really I am just trying to be more resourceful so my money can be used for more important things. I decided to put cost next to my meals. If it is something I have in the pantry it's free which I realize isn't super accurate but going forward, if I grocery shop, I'll consider those costs.
On my sister's recommendation I stole the title from Carrie Sun's blog on hospital eating .

Souper Salad!
Breakfast: Cereal ($0)
Lunch: This elderly couple took me to Souper Salad! for lunch after church. What is Souper Salad? like Sizzler but WAY more ghetto. They've actually taken me to Sizzler here in Albuquerque too. I got a salad, no souper, and a sweet potato, and, of course, the best thing about a buffet...soft serve! It was lovely, and free! ($0)
Dinner: Youth group breakfast burritos. Delish! ($0)

Good thing I have a job.

why eat at home?
Breakfast: French toast. ($0)

Dinner: Once again I was prepared to eat at home but Karen and Jeff Bishop came to town so I had to at least give them the option of eating New Mexican food. We went to Frontier. I do love their breakfast burritos all day long. ($0)

Hostessing
Breakfast: Eggs on A-Z bread. ($0)
Lunch: Fish taco and cherries. ($0)
Dinner: There is a family from my church here that feeds me at least once a week. They have 7 kids so it's not really reasonable to ever have them over to my house (we don't have enough plates). The 5 oldest kids are gone so I had the remaining 4 people over for dinner. Greek chicken pita sandwiches, watermelon and mint salad, buttermilk, roasted strawberry cake with vanilla ice cream. I was nervous since my pot luck food never gets eaten but this seemed well received. I went to 3 stores, mostly becasue I'm indecisive. I got some other staples too. ($30.26)
