I've decided to start blogging my eating adventures. Mostly because cooking has become increasingly boring lately and this will add some excitement to my life. I'm not that girl who shares what she eats because I have an eating disorder. I don't believe in dieting. I think diets, like budgets, are lame and evil. On that financial note, some may consider me cheap and wonder why I can't afford regular food, this has nothing to do with that. Really I am just trying to be more resourceful so my money can be used for more important things. I decided to put cost next to my meals. If it is something I have in the pantry it's free which I realize isn't super accurate but going forward, if I grocery shop, I'll consider those costs.
On my sister's recommendation I stole the title from Carrie Sun's blog on hospital eating .

Happy Earth Day!

Breakfast: Yogurt and Autumn Wheat.  I got the yogurt at TJ's and then Heather gave me more Autumn Wheat than I could eat in 12 years. ($0)
Lunch: I had an invite for an amazing lunch but had to pass and have yogurt in my car on the way to sell plants at Earth Day. I am a fairly good saleswoman but not when people ask me ridiculous questions about plants after standing in the sun for 4 hours. Morgan did buy me a fruit-pop for $1 as payment for my 12 hours of work this weekend ($0)
Dinner: We just started youth group at church (not singles group, but the good old-fashioned kind where you play awkward games).  Dinner was provided but I brought amazing watermelon.  I'll be eating watermelon for a while. ($7)

Tucson Day 3

Dinner:  Back in New Mexico.  Heather picked me up from the airport and wanted to go to Indigo Crow for dinner. Um, she'd only been there for brunch and didn't know how fancy they were for dinner.  I got the roasted duck breast with cherry zinfandel glaze, parmesan risotto and grilled asparagus, because really, why not?  I'm underemployed so paid the tip ($7)

Weekly total $7.  Weekly weight gain, I don't want to know.

Tucson day 1

I came to Tucson to visit Michael and Sara Easton and to get a weekend's worth of free food.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich - how did she know that is my favorite breakfast food? ($0)
Lunch: Old Pueblo Grill, I got pulled pork with a side of Hatch green chili mac and cheese.  Hatch green chili is from Hatch, New Mexico - I guess I just can't get away from this enchantedness. ($0)
Dinner:  Jax Kitchen.  I was not feeling great so got the spring beet salad instead of an actual meal and then supplemented off of the plates of others. Fortunately I was feeling fine by dessert time, and got some amazing cheesecake with Oreo crust and a layer of peanut butter deliciousness on top. ($0)

following recipes

Breakfast: Frosted Flakes ($0)
Lunch: I went with Heather to Le Quiche, I have to admit it was pretty ghetto and I was fairly skeptical but it was delicious. ($0)
Dinner: Morgan came over, I wanted to make this polenta bean thing because I had all the ingredients.  The recipe was on-line but our internet is terrible so we just put the ingredients together in a logical order and it turned out great.  We shared with April but it isn't the easiest meal to categorize when someone asks what it is. ($0)
