Gleaning

Brunch: My roommate is gone for a month and left behind some hard boiled eggs, bacon(?) and tomato. I put it together on a tortilla to eat with some cherries. ($0)
Dinner: I went to my friend Heather's she buys real food and seasons it. ($0)

there is too much of a good thing

Breakfast: I made some A-Z bread: carrots, zucchini and yams. It was a little sweet so I cut it with fried cheese. What a way to start the day. ($0)
Lunch: Chips and some corn salsa from yesterday ($0)
Snack: My stomach was having a hard time of things. I ate cherries. ($0)
Dinner: Frequently on Friday nights I can tag along to some type of family dinner with church people. Tonight did not disappoint. ($0)

Dinner: Morgan is leaving for south Asia for 3 months so we SUCCESSFULLY made fried cheese and fish tacos. ($0)

mac and cheese

Breakfast: Autumn Wheat. ($0)
Snack: I took my friend Deborah to Koinonia coffee shop for lattes. 2 for ($4).
Lunch: Mac and cheese. I've decided to start freezing 1/2 gallon of milk at a time since I can't drink a whole gallon before it goes bad.  This caused some trouble with me needing frantically to defrost milk.  I won!  ($0)
Dinner: Another healthy meal of mac and cheese with a side of edamame. I had edamame becasue I realized the day had passed with no actual nutritional. ($0)

Breakfast: Rice Chex. ($0)
Snack: Ice cream. ($0)
Lunch: Eggs on hamburger bun. ($0)
Then I came home.
Snack: Apple and peanut butter. ($0)
Shopping: I did buy some fry-able cheese ($4.82). Maybe for Thursday.
Dinner: Watching Chopped while I eat is depressing.  Bow tie pasta with lima beans and basil.  I should have added something else for flavor but I'm lazy.  ($0)

work=food

Breakfast: I was particularly unmotivated so when I finally go around to functioning I had to run to a meeting with a breakfast of carrot sticks. ($0)
Lunch: Fortunately I got fed at the meeting: crackers, cheeses, apples and yogurt. ($0)
Dinner: I'm dog sitting. They have grandkids so I had chicken nuggets and m&m's. ($0)
Dessert: I'm the VP of this club on campus and we had a meeting at a coffee shop. I was going to get a drink there but decided to get frozen yogurt at the place next store instead.  Strangely enough they have 1/2 off frozen yogurt from noon-closing. Really do people buy fro yo before noon? ($1.61)

running low

Breakfast: Banana and frozen berry milk. Yogurt and granola. ($0)
Study Time: I met with a friend to do homework and got an iced tea. ($3)
Lunch: The remainder of my chicken and cheese in a quesadilla with a side of the rest of my watermelon. ($0)
Dinner?  I went to see Moonrise Kingdom, wow! And then went for milkshakes and fries.  I got a s'mores shake, it was pretty much a chocolate shake with layers of graham cracker crumbs. Since Heather bough the tickets I bought the treats. ($21.80)

So today I finished my yogurt, shredded cheese (bought from Sam's in February), crock-pot chicken and watermelon. I should shop soon.

end of VBS

Breakfast: My friend said I should put peanut butter on my bread before turning it into french toast, I tried but I'll need a little help with the technique. ($0)
Lunch:  Chicken/Cheese quesadilla, orzo salad. ($0)
Dinner: For the last night of VBS we had bite-sized corn dogs, apples and sno-cones. ($0)
Dinner 2: For celebration we went to Frontier, I was all ready to pay for myself but one of the families said they'd pay for all of us. I got a breakfast burrito with bacon and green chili-usually I don't get the chili but it's not too hot and delicious. ($0)

Indian Tacos

Breakfast: Autumn Wheat ($0)
Lunch: I went hiking in the Jemez mountains and we stopped for Indian tacos on the way back.  Like all New Mexican foods its a strange reflection of the Mexican counterpart.  Indian tacos are fry bread with like taco salad on top and, of course, red or green chili. We were hosting some people so I split the bill. ($15)
Dinner: Another VBS meal, hot dogs and fruit.  Then a really good snack time of frozen bananas and caramel/cheese popcorn. ($0)

Really it's been more like the longest week of the year. I was running around a lot.

Morning Snack: 3/4 of a muffin at my boss's house. ($0)
Lunch: At my boss's house, a ton of food. ($0)
Dinner: Sonic had 1/2 off shakes for the first day of summer. I got a banana one. ($1.90)
Dessert: Fruit kabob, scotch-a-roo and chocolate milk at VBS. ($0)

fridge findings

Breakfast:  French toast! I always forget about this but am so happy when I make it. We have a random loaf of white bread in the fridge so I decided to put it to good use. ($0)
Lunch: A quesadilla with that crockpot chicken again but this time I got it into my mouth. ($0)
Dinner: Sandwich fixings were provided for pre VBS and we had cotton candy, frozen grapes, and carrots for treat. ($0)

Sonic

Breakfast: Banana/frozen fruit milk. Free sample of cereal I got in the mail. ($0)
Lunch: Orzo salad. Watermelon. ($0)
Snack: We went on a hike in the heat of day and went to Sonic happy-hour and Ellen paid for my first experience with a berry, lemon slushy. ($0)
Dinner: Crock pot chicken quesadilla. I ate it on the way to class and ended up with chicken juice down my shirt and onto my skirt. ($0)

Lunch: The youth group had soft tacos for lunch after church. I volunteered to bring my crock-pot chicken and my friend provided me with the chicken, so I just had to buy a can of tomatoes ($.69)
Snack: We were having a prepare for VBS work meeting so after 5 hours of working we had ice cream. ($0)
Dinner: For Father's Day I went to my adopted New Mexican family's house. ($0)

Dinner: I had a different 2 people from church over for dinner and then some more stopped by later. I remembered that I really like having people over.  I had all the ingredients for lemon tortellini pasta bake and chewy ginger cookies and watermelon and cherries and green beans. ($0)

New Favorite NM Place

Breakfast: 1 egg and a banana in yogurt ($0)
Snack: When I first moved here I saw a coffee shop called Koinonia coffee shop.  I figured it was Christian and 9 months later decided to check it out.  It is amazing!  $2 for a huge latte. Then they came out and gave me another one.  And they have a gorgeous garden outside.  I'm in love. ($2)
Lunch: Orzo salad with a little extra fresh spinach to perk it up. ($0)
Dinner: Morgan came over for dinner.  I pulled my lentil "meatballs" out of the freezer and we had them with the sweet potatoes and zucchini and leeks that Morgan brought. ($0)

Dinner: A family from church has loads of people over for dinner every other Friday night.  I brought cake - thus the healthy lunch.  I did have to buy all the ingredients (plus a bowl to mix and a pan to bake) but I had a Walmart gift card so it ended up being free. ($0)

Snack: Now that I have a job, I had a 9am meeting then decided I would do the rest of the day's work at Starbucks. I had a card for my drink and brought carrot sticks and a granola bar as a snack. ($0)
Lunch: When I got home I made a salad...spinach from Heather, celery from Heather, fake crab from Raquel and blue cheese from a long long time ago.  I also had some broccoli salad. ($0)
Dinner: Lunch was pretty late but lots of people decided to bring treats to our final Beth Moore study.  Cake, banana bread, brownies and a veggie tray. ($0)

Lunch: During lunch with my landlord on Friday he mentioned he was thinking of hiring an assistant for one of the projects he's working on.  We met again today for a highly entertaining lunch with his current "staff," I learned that I fit the description of a Pisces very well.  And I got hired, I don't know for what. ($0)
Dinner: I started summer school and got home at 8 for some orzo salad. ($0)

potlucks and youth group

Breakfast: Peanut butter Puffins. ($0)
Lunch: It was a pot luck Sunday, heavy on the salads. I brought a broccoli salad and will be eating most of it all week. I think it was delicious.
Dinner: Tonight was youth group with a sandwich bar, I brought an orzo spinach salad.  Southwesterners aren't really into my salads. So I'll be rotating that with my broccoli.  I did have some ingredients so total they were under $10. ($9.69)

adventuring we go

Breakfast: I went to my friend Heather's and made spinach and mushroom scrambles with strawberries, it possibly would have been an omelet but I'm terrible at those. ($0)
Lunch: Fortunately it was a hearty breakfast because we then went on a hike that ended up being 4.5 hours.  Straight through lunch time.  When we FINALLY made it back to her house we had fruit and lots of water. ($0)
Dinner: One of the girls from church graduated from high school and I wisely scheduled my drop by for the open house for dinner time. ($0)

Yay for Landlords!

Breakfast: Peanut Butter Puffins. ($0)
Lunch: My very nice landlord took us roommates to a lovely 2 hour lunch.  We went to Standard Diner, it's been on DD&D, I guess for bacon wrapped meatloaf, I opted for delicious tuna sliders with salted caramel panna cotta for dessert.  It was all wonderful...and free! ($0)
Dinner: Lunch was pretty late and or swamp cooler went out so it was 85* in our house, I had carrot sticks and hummus. ($0)
Dessert: I went to my friend's house for grapes. ($0)
