Breakfast: Sara gave me the option of grits or oatmeal. Well you know what they say, "When in the Southwest, eat southern food." I went with the grits. ($0)
Lunch: BLT's at home. ($0)
Dinner: We were going to make food at home but Michael decided since I was there it was a great excuse for sushi. ($0)
Dessert: Gelato. I think I went with hazelnut, salted caramel and mint chocolate. I did try pineapple basil but I really think people are trying too hard sometime. ($0)
Side note: We bought some dark chocolate, salted caramel sauce and a bag of sweet pretzels and ate lots throughout the day.
I've decided to start blogging my eating adventures. Mostly because cooking has become increasingly boring lately and this will add some excitement to my life. I'm not that girl who shares what she eats because I have an eating disorder. I don't believe in dieting. I think diets, like budgets, are lame and evil. On that financial note, some may consider me cheap and wonder why I can't afford regular food, this has nothing to do with that. Really I am just trying to be more resourceful so my money can be used for more important things. I decided to put cost next to my meals. If it is something I have in the pantry it's free which I realize isn't super accurate but going forward, if I grocery shop, I'll consider those costs.
On my sister's recommendation I stole the title from Carrie Sun's blog on hospital eating .

Tucson day 1
I came to Tucson to visit Michael and Sara Easton and to get a weekend's worth of free food.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich - how did she know that is my favorite breakfast food? ($0)
Lunch: Old Pueblo Grill, I got pulled pork with a side of Hatch green chili mac and cheese. Hatch green chili is from Hatch, New Mexico - I guess I just can't get away from this enchantedness. ($0)
Dinner: Jax Kitchen. I was not feeling great so got the spring beet salad instead of an actual meal and then supplemented off of the plates of others. Fortunately I was feeling fine by dessert time, and got some amazing cheesecake with Oreo crust and a layer of peanut butter deliciousness on top. ($0)

following recipes
Breakfast: Frosted Flakes ($0)
Lunch: I went with Heather to Le Quiche, I have to admit it was pretty ghetto and I was fairly skeptical but it was delicious. ($0)
Dinner: Morgan came over, I wanted to make this polenta bean thing because I had all the ingredients. The recipe was on-line but our internet is terrible so we just put the ingredients together in a logical order and it turned out great. We shared with April but it isn't the easiest meal to categorize when someone asks what it is. ($0)

Easter
Breakfast: Frosted Flakes and the rest of my zucchini bread. ($0)
Lunch: Family picnic. Not my family but they still let me crash. I did feel like being responsible and brought carrot sticks and candy. ($3.50)
Dinner: I went to my friend Grace's parents house for dinner. We made these awesome pizzas, and by "we" I mean Grace and I chopped things and her mom turned it into something magical. Then she brought out bowls of ice cream with this amazing homemade chocolate sauce, I restrained myself from licking the bowl but it was tough. ($0)
Weekly Total: $9.60, much more reasonable than last week.
Off topic I should do a little more of a shout out to Easter. I'm happy Jesus is alive. And loves me.
